We make biodiesel at home from leftover fryer oil. We capture better quality oils and make some excellent fuel we burn in older diesel motors. Probably the biggest challenge for us has been time and efficiency. Such as fragile spray system that occasionally falls apart and overflows a batch, or a funky timer that just doesn't do it's job.
