The Golden Mean Ratio is an important proportion/ratio appearing on all levels of creation. The Golden Mean Ratio is expressed in the spirals of galaxies, the proportions of the human body, and the curve of a Nautilus shell.

The Golden Mean Ratio – perfect balance of parts to whole

Personal Experience: A friend built an outdoor, earth-covered root cellar, constructed in length, width as a Golden Mean rectangle. First time I stepped into it, I immediately felt the shift in life force frequency within that space. I stepped outside and in a few times to distinguish the frequency difference. I’d describe the Golden Rectangle root cellar as alive, vital, uplifting, airy, expansive (though below ground), which this photo exemplifies.

The Golden Proportion

The Golden Proportion  is an extremely important ratio appearing on all levels of creation as shown in this video.

It is expressed in spirals of galaxies, twists in wild sheep horns, curved seed rows of sunflower head, spiral of a Nautilus shell, and  proportions of the human body. It appears abundantly manifest in Nature.

Historically, many names have been given to the Golden Proportion/Ratio. The sacred-like qualities recognized in the ratio are noted through names: Divine Proportion, Divine Section, Golden Cut, Golden Section, Godlike Proportion. These names suggest that is has a transcendental quality. It represented spiritual quality (guiding principle) that superseded the physical, but was expressed on the physical plane.

The Golden Proportion on the physical, mathematical, and geometrical levels represents the “perfect balance and harmony of the parts to the whole.” I’ve also noticed the ratio energetically carries those frequencies/qualities. Structures built using the Golden Ratio carry the signature frequencies of harmony, balance, order, beauty and the sense of the sacred.

Mathematically Defining the Golden Proportion

Let us draw a line that represents the whole. It is whole and complete, one thing in unity. Then, we choose to divide it into two parts, a larger part and a smaller part. We divide the whole-line into two parts with a hash mark.

We could divide the line into an infinite number of large parts and small parts. But we want to divide the line in such a way that the two parts are in balance with each other, and are in balance with the whole. There is such a division point called the Golden Mean.

The Golden Mean (of the whole)                                      (the large part of the whole)                                    |           (the small part of the whole)

|

The Golden Ratio symbolically represents the harmonic proportion of unity, where the whole is in balance with every part.

The formula for Golden Ratio is: The balanced relationship (proportion) between the small part and the large part of the line is the same as the balanced relationship (proportion) between the large part and the whole line. Its general formula is:

The Whole (is to)                                                                     The Large Part (is to)

--------------------------                        =   (as the)                        ------------------------

The Large Part                                                                          The Small Part

.

The mathematical expression of this relationship is:  1 to (:) 1.6180339…………….

That is, if the small part (segment of the line) is 1, then the large part (segment of the line) is 1.6180339………..

If the small part is 1 foot, then the large part is 1.6180339… feet

If the small part is 1 meter, then the large part is 1.6180339… meters Etc.

This numerical value of the ratio is considered “irrational,” since it can never be resolved to a single number. The numbers after the decimal point go on forever, always reaching out for a more perfect balance point. However, for practical purposes on the Earth plane, we can abbreviate the Golden Ratio to 1: 1.618

Design Application: If we designed a Golden Mean rectangular house it would follow the ratio of 1: 1.618. If we choose that the rectangular house will be 15 feet wide (the small part), then its length will be 15 feet x 1.618 or 24.27 feet long (the large part). These dimensions (15 feet wide by 24.27 feet long) describe a Golden Mean rectangle.

Any rectangular house, bedroom, or root cellar built with Golden Ratio proportions, I believe, serves as a resonant frequency chamber for Golden Mean frequencies. These life force frequencies embody qualities of peace, clarity, vitality, expansion, and sense of sacred.
